30 Prompts - 30 Lines
For wildcard Thursday.

1. Welcome - Dominic turned 360 degrees around the underground facility, taking in the clean lines and soothing colors of the Dollhouse, and then glanced back at the woman offering him the perfect job for his duties. “Where do I sign up?”
2. Thanks - “Don’t thank me yet. I’m still thinking about killing you.”
3. Tattoo - Adelle carefully untucked her shirt and shed it by the door, ignoring the whirl of the tattoo machine as Dominic approached closer. “Bend over,” he instructed, cheekily, and she glared back at him.
4. Revelation - Echo lifted an eyebrow at them. “When the hell did this start up?”
5. Tattered - Composing herself, she turned back to study Dominic and found him dressed familiarly in tattered military fatigues. She had come to depend greatly upon him over the last few months, on his skills and his level head – despite the surface layer of animosity.
6. Bad Reaction – “Topher, calm down,” she tried, irritably, but he was handling things just about as well as she expected him to. “Clothes!” Topher screamed, flailing, and threw Dominic’s pants at him. “There will be no further speaking of words until clothes are present and naughty bits are covered up!”
7. Bad judgment - “God, you're a bloody idiot," she seethed, then wrapped one hand around his neck and crushed her lips to his, as if to prove a point, some point, except Dominic was fairly sure this was rather an ironic thing to do in an argument centering around bad judgment.
8. Exasperation - He really needed her to stop second-guessing everything about their dynamic. Where was this uncertainty when it had come to the duties of her job, pre-thoughtapocalypse?
9. Lies - She killed them all. There was no redemption for that, or so Dominic kept telling himself.
10. First – For the record, she kissed him first.
11. Anger – “No one wants your justifications,” he told her. “We just want you to own up to the fucking truth already.”
12. Nightmare - An image of her sitting at the side of his bed, head turned so he could see the profile of her face, was always waiting for him in attic, blood stains across her flowered shirt and pencil skirt. "Mr. Dominic," she would always greet. "You were a fool to ever love me."
13. Origin – After piloting a helicopter in Afghanistan and three years working homicide in Chicago, NSA picked him up. Dominic took the job barely knowing why. He was satisfied working homicide; the best at it. But hell, being a spy. You only live once, right?
14. Threat - Credible intel, imminent security risk, condition red. It was the end-of-the-world type of stuff, and everyone took him as seriously as chicken-little screaming, the sky is falling.
15. Home – Back in London, it wasn't good to be home. Adelle rented a hotel room instead of letting her family know she was back in the country. She couldn't deal with them right now, or much of anything. It was a surprise, then, when he showed up at her doorstep.
16. Surprise – It was the first good news since the thought-apocalypse came knocking at their door, and no one held a grudge against Adelle, not even Dominic in his delirium. The celebratory kiss had caught both of them by surprise.
17. Trust – She finally admitted to herself that there was an undeniable magnetism. She was drawn to him. He'd killed a dozen of her people, at least, and still she trusted him.
18. Business as usual – She caught up with him at the atrium. Business as usual like the tryst in her office and the fuck in the elevator had never occurred.
19. Security - "Of course I’m here. I wouldn't be very good at my job if I couldn't get passed security that I had a hand in setting up."
20. Dream – The dream took hold of her immediately. She was staring at the boogeyman in the flesh, standing over her with the eyes of a sin-eater. She wondered how it was that Dominic had survived this hell for so long.
21. Waiting – She was there when he got back, two glasses of vodka already poured and waiting.
22. Admiration – NSA could have used a woman like her, he acknowledged, if only because there weren’t many agents as smart and capable at their job as she was at hers.
23. Change – The hair was not the only change. In fact, it was barely indicative of anything, but Dominic found himself focusing on it.
24. Hand – His hand was at her back, warm and reassuring, and she realized it was the only physical contact that she’d had in months. Strange, what such sensory deprivation could do to one’s thought process, and how it could run everything afoul.
25. Rush – It was frenzied and rushed the first time. She couldn't tell you why she did it, only that it was more her instigation than his; she led and he followed, and all she knew was that it felt right while being just a little bit wrong, and it moved faster than it should have.
26. Reputation – She knew his reputation, and he should have been prepared for hers. Neither knew what they were getting into, however.
27. Aggravation -
His sense of responsibility was simultaneously one of the most annoying and admirable traits about him, and she didn’t know whether to slap him or kiss him for it. She settled for offering him a drink.
28. Stumble - Instead, Dominic crossed the room in a flash, and the immediate jolt of his hot mouth covering hers had Adelle stumbling back.
29. Catch - She was doing nothing but holding on, bracing herself against the wall and catching purchase on the firm muscles of his shoulders. “Be as loud as you want,” he breathed to her, heavily. “There’s no one around to hear.”
30. Goodbye - “I am not scared,” he flung back, angrily, “At least not of this. Of us. I just refuse to die in this hellhole. I won’t. I’m getting out. Sorry, Adelle, but even I’ve got my limits.”

OH MAN THIS IS FUN! So many possibilities! Being the great lover of shenanigans that I am, these two were of course my very faves. :D
