penikitty wrote a write-up about Echo-2, and someone asked OW and RD about Dewitt and Dominic. Which led to the revelation that Olivia Williams watches DeWitt/Dominic fanvids on youtube.Okay, so during Fran and Olivia's talk someone asked Olivia what she thought the relationship was between Adelle and Dominic. Olivia got really excited and said "Are you the person that's made those amazing videos?" and the person said that no, she wasn't. Olivia then got extremely animated and excited and explained to us, and Fran, that there was a series of amazing videos on youtube set to music about Adelle/Dominic and that she watched them A LOT and they always make her happy.
I thought it was
dollsome at first, but it turns out to be the great Ohsoleil. WORSHIP AT HER FEET. (I cannot link to her other vids because Youtube is blocking them. *shakes fist at youtube*)The answer to the question is--
Yes she did answer and so did Reed. They both said they didn't see it as a romantic relationship. Reed said that he thought Dominic saw her as his queen and that he would do anything to protect her and their kingdom.
Thoughts? Personally, I love it that Reed said that he thinks Dominic sees Adelle as his queen. ♥♥♥
ETA: A question for you to ponder on: did you see DeWitt/Dominic as a romantic relationship? Yes? No? How did you see it and why?

I think your summary is EXACTLY CORRECT, my friend. I am just choosing to believe that they meant "romantic relationship" in the context that they were actually romantically involved in secret or whatever, because I cannot de-UST all their scenes after so long! It would require a complete re-wiring of my brain.
Oh, just think of all the fun we would have had if we could have come up with questions! We would have left the whole Dollhouse-related world stunned that anyone had ever paid that much attention to this relationship! ... SOMEONE SHOULD HAVE ASKED WHY THEY WERE SO AWKWARD AT THE END OF "ECHOES." DAMN IT! I mean, I get that "because they are both very straight-laced and it would be humiliating for them to even know that the other had behaved anything less than impeccably" works, but ... still. I feel like that scene is The Great D/D Mystery.

IT TRULY IS! Dear god, when the comm first started out and I found it on YT, I was all, 'THIS FANDOM IS THE GREATEST FANDOM IN THE WORLD'. And 2 years later, the declaration still stands. Y so awesome, fandom?
Yeah, I think that was their definition of romantic relationship? IDK. I've been corrupted by my Alias and BSG ships. They don't 'do' romantic. Are we a romantic ship? I think not. We're mostly the UST-and-subtext-laden ship (and WE LOVE IT). So... maybe if the question was re-worded, ~we probably would have gotten a meatier answer. IDK.

I can't believe it's been two years since Adelle sucked Dominic's brain out and
And, yeah, I totally agree that 'romantic' is not exactly the best word to label these guys with -- except pre-"Spy In The House Of Love," at which point they were incredibly romantic in a classical sense if not a makeouty sense. 'Cause, ya know. HIS QUEEN. WOULD DO ANYTHING TO PROTECT HER AND THEIR KINGDOM. (Also, I know it's dorky, but I so dig how that suggests that Dominic wasn't secretly rolling his eyes & hating on Adelle even if he was a spy who did not approve of what the Dollhouse was up to. Fanon interpretation, validated!)
Did Reed say anything about what he thought Dominic's fate might have been, or anything about why he kind of just disappeared & we never got to hear more about him, or WHY HE WAS NOT IN THE DANG FINALE? (Not that this continues to haunt me or anything.) Did Olivia say anything about what she thought Adelle thought of Dominic? So many questions in my brain now!

If they have discovered it, then I, er, hope they are just charmed by how enthusiastic we are and how compelled we were by their work! Fangirling is an inherently crazy activity, but I like to think ours at this comm is a very nice, benign kind of crazy. :D (p.s. HI OLIVIA.)
