Shrines should probably be built to Dom's reaction to Adelle asking if he's a Rayna fan. Look at his face! I like to think that this scene radiates a certain sense of "Let's swap star signs, I like long walks on the beach, arching my eyebrows in a way that subtly radiates power, and frequently-hideousish blouses that magically become stunning just because I'm wearing them!" She's trying to bond; it's just ill-timed!

*giggles* Word. Word all over this right here. (And speaking of hideous yet mysteriously simulataneously gorgeous wardrobe choices, I don't even know what is going on with that outfit Dom is wearing throughout most of 1x02. Like, I either am in love with it or am horrified by it; I can't seem to make up my mind. It's a bit befuddling. Either way, no mortal man should be able to rock a lavender dress shirt and paisley-ish tie of the exact same shade the way he does. It just ain't right.)

...Also, Adelle's hair in that scene from the unaired pilot? Disturbingly kinda close like what I was imagining her hair being like in "Valentine Was A Saint, You Know". That's...eerie.

Lololzzzz, Dominic's 1x02 outfit! I noticed the lavender and decided that he rocked it but somehow, even in the process of picspamming, did not quite register the tie. OH JEEZ. I swear it's like early on the wardrobe department discovered Olivia and Reed had magical powers to make anything they wore look sexy, and went about systematically experimenting with it from then on. I mean, not only does Adelle end up in some wonky-ass blouses -- how many times is Dominic wearing a patterned dress shirt underneath a patterned tie?? That so SHOULD NOT work. It's like we're breaking the laws of fashion physics right before my very eyes. Look: in the Alpha-attack flashback, he's wearing two different vertical pinstripes. I feel like somewhere, a Queer Eye guy is crying. (Actually, I'd be remiss if I didn't mention my favorite Dominic outfit: I can't remember which episode it is, the one where they're doing all the awesome power-striding? THAT'S MY FAVORITE DOMINIC OUTFIT TOO!!! I really, really thought he was wearing a turtleneck (and I was like, Whoo, no tie and and collared shirt for today, yum!) and then I look more closely and realized that his tie and shirt was just of the same color O_O

I have this theory that the wardrobe people just let the actors pick their outfit. And I don't know why I think that. lulz

But that's just it exactly!! It's like the stuff he wears shouldn't look good in the breakdown, but it does. It really does. And I find that amazing. Somehow, the sheer incredibleness and powers of awesome of Laurence Dominic/Reed Diamond contains the abiltity to turn otherwise awkward wardrobe combinations into sleek and sexy-fine ensembles.

Or, hell, maybe it's just that we can't really take the clothes in because we're too distracted picturing them on the floor of our Adelle's bedroom.

Hee, I was just watching bits and pieces of the Man on the Street commentary earlier, and at the end of it, Joss was talking about the constant glories of Dominic's suits, and how he loved that Mr. Dominic was a bit of a dandy because it's just so at odds with every other aspect of his character that we are ever shown. I found that delightful.

D'aww hahaha!! Oh, that is so awesome. But yeah, that is true, come to think of it - Dominic comes off like a bit of a thug sometimes (and you know I only mean that in the best possible way) and yet, the suits. The very, very nice suits. (How nice are they? So nice that his high!self has to comment on them, that's how.)

Laurence Dominic's sartorial appreciation delights me so much, and it is only surpassed by the sartorial appreciation of one other character in all of fiction (or, er, at least, the fiction that I've paid attention to), and that character is Barney Stinson. And then I realized that they actually sort of bear striking resemblances to each other, ol' Dom and Barney, and have now decided that they must be cousins. Who maybe get together once every couple years to go suit shopping. And then the parallels just kept on comin', because -- gasp! -- both of them are in love with (oh, you know it's true, Mr. Dominic; oh, you know it's true, show at large) brunette badass independent ladies from mighty foreign lands! (England! Canada!) I am only now starting to wonder if I immediately latched onto DeWitt/Dominic with such ferocity because I was subconsciously recognizing a certain Barney/Robintasticness about them.

Er, basically, you should watch How I Met Your Mother because I need somebody else to bask in the DELIGHT of this realization with me!

And now I’m picturing Topher putting up mistletoe in random places around the Dollhouse, just as a joke. Only later to be SCARRED FOR LIFE when he sees a reindeer tie lying bunched up on the floor. Eheheh.

Y'know, I just had this flash - I have no idea where this came from - of Dominic and Adelle at company retreats. And then I got another flash of Dominic and Adelle running in the forest, because the Dollhouse's version of a company retreat meant for team bonding would not mean a normal retreat. It would go horribly, horribly wrong for D/D because they'd end up fighting for their lives against other Dollhouse Heads. (This is a total ripoff of that one X Files ep in the forest, but I'm not sure if you're familiar with that.)

Anyway, it would end in D/D sexin', of course. In the woods. After Dominic had constructed a rudimentary weapon for protection, and they spent a night cuddled up together to share body warmth, and Adelle had to take a bath in a local pond, and Dominic got an eyefull. And all the while they battle other House Heads and generally are a kickass awesome duo of AWESOMENESS.

... I'm thinking about this too much.

And clearly, if we’re somewhat using that X-Files ep (which, yes, totally familiar with!) as reference then Adelle will most definitely have to belt out, in some fashion and endearingly out of tune, “Jeremiah was a bullfrog … ” For some reason my mind went to karaoke contest between the House Heads. In the middle of the forest while brutally battling?

... I'm thinking about this too much.

Is it just me being delusional, or does Adelle sit the exact same way whenever she's talking to Dominic? Arms outward in a relaxed manner, legs crossed. Perhaps an unconscious response to a memory? LOL, or have I been reading too much fic? It could just be the moment captured of course, but to be sure I think a full season body language analysis is in order ;)

Oh, and did anyone else notice that in these 4 episodes Dominic wore bright purple twice? Not a light purple, a muted purple, bright purple. And with a purple tie too! Doesn't purple denote royalty or something similar? Okay, I'm definitely thinking about this too much....

New favorite show! For once I feel somewhat in the "know" as I'm not coming to a Joss Whedon series like *years* after it's already been on the air and cancelled.
