Dewitt/Dominic scenes?
Quick question: What episodes have the best Dewitt/Dominic scenes? I'm guiding a friend toward Dollhouse and D/D, but I can't specifically remember the names of the episodes, and what scenes went where. I know 1.09 is one excellent example of their dynamic, but what others?

Any help is appreciated. Also, this would probably help in my fic writing, so doubly appreciated.

Precautionary warning: probably spoilers in comments. ETA: Including future spoilers for 1.10 and on.

All of their scenes tend to be of the "We look super pretty while striding around talking about serious business plotty stuff" variety, so most of them kinda blend for me, but I think their scenes at the end of both "Man on the Street" and "Echoes" are extra-delightful. I'm also weirdly fond of the scene in "Stage Fright" where she asks him if he's a fan of Rayna's music, just because it's so endearingly random. It's like she's trying to bond in a non-worky way, and he's forced to awkwardly shoot her down because HE IS FUTILELY TRYING TO SAVE HIMSELF FROM BECOMING EMOTIONALLY INVESTED IN THE VERY WOMAN HE WILL ONE DAY BETRAY.

... or, um, maybe I just have mad skillz injecting lots of not-there subtext into random conversations. Whatever! It's delightful!

CLEARLY! ;)

Also, I'm sorry, but they manage to get a bucketload of chemistry into the "We look super pretty while striding around talking about serious business plotty stuff." They powerwalk like nobody's business. Oddly, the moment I fell for them as a couple? When Dominic asked her if she had an exit strategy in place. That's practically a declaration of love, I tells ya.

OH HELL YES. I still find it so impressive that I somehow got wrangled into being so emotionally invested in a pair where they've never even really had a conversation that wasn't about work. But right from the get-go, there's just such a sense that they're, like, Mommy and Daddy Dollhouse, and I think just from seeing them together so consistently this unstated sense of significance developed re: their relationship, so even though we didn't technically know the characters that well, there was still such a strong sense of betrayal in 1x09 because we have been conditioned to expect that wherever Adelle is, Dominic is like two feet behind her in a really snazzy suit all silently, stoically there to back her up! OH, SPY IN THE HOUSE OF LOVE, I WILL NEVER GET OVER YOU. To the point where I have to resort to drama queen capslock expressions of woe!

I am really really hoping that the seeming Adelle-centric-ness of this week's upcoming episode gets us some more Dominic angst from her.

Seriously. Actually, I've got this weird theory (that I'll probably turn into fic) that there was some sort of past acknowledge of mutual attraction, but given their position and personalities, Adelle simply slammed it shut immediately afterwards because she couldn't afford those complications in a working relationship that seemed to be working so well. But the feelings were acknowledged, however briefly. The way that Dominic said, "Sign my death warrant like a business transaction," or however the phrase was. He knows he means more to her than just an employee; he wouldn't be so presumptuous with her unless there was reason.

It could have been a drunken acknowledgment, or a near-kiss, or, hell, an actual kiss. But there is total backstory to them, and that's the story I'm sticking to.

I LOVE THIS IDEA SO VERY, VERY MUCH. And, oh, now I want to say something that is, like, quasi-spoilery in the vaguest of ways for 1x10 but I'm not sure how careful we're being about spoilers around here. WHAT TO DO?

Oh! 1.10 spoilers? Um...

Crap. I have no willpower. Tell me!

It's totally to do with the cast and not the actual plot of the episode itself at all, and they release this information in press releases, so I figure it's not that big of a deal spoilers-wise! But, anyway, Reed Diamond is listed to guest star in 1x10 and 1x11, which DELIGHTS ME SO, because for some reason I totally missed 1x10 and was of the opinion that he would just be in 1x11. And Joss has described 1x10 as being a standalone that's not really related to the mythology that's been building up, and we know Adelle's going to visit the Attic in 1x11, so I was musing over whether we're going to see Dominic in, like, flashbacks or dream sequences or something, in which his and Adelle's secret undeniable love would no doubt be revealed!!! Or. Um. That's how my brain likes to spin it. It is probably more likely that we're just going to see a few seconds of him suffering unendurable torture at the beginning or something fun like that, but I can't help it if I want to DeWitt/Dominic-ize everything! The walking pretty! The tragic betrayal! I am powerless against it all!! I want their epic love story to blossom and TAKE OVER THE SHOW. Sorry, Eliza Dushku. You're okay too, but really now: priorities.

(I think about this show too much. Especially since it's finals week and my whole life should technically be devoted to the fine, fine study of English literature. But. Um. DOLLHOUSE.)

OMG, really? Dude, I was avoiding spoilers before, but now I'm glad I didn't. I assumed that Dominic wasn't going to be in the rest of the season, or if he was, it was going to be in 1.12.

so I was musing over whether we're going to see Dominic in, like, flashbacks or dream sequences or something, in which his and Adelle's secret undeniable love would no doubt be revealed!!! Or. Um. That's how my brain likes to spin it.

There is no spinning! There is such UST between them, and it's angsty and DENIED but real. I mean, seriously, considering the source and material these characters/actors had to work with? The chemistry still managed to JUMP off the screen.

Honestly, I am desperately curious about Alpha, because that story, I think, will help flush out Dewitt/Dominic dynamic by strengthening it through adversity. Or something. Clearly, though, that makes Dominic's betrayal more gut-wrenching. (But the most gut-wrenching scene of 1.09 was totally when Dominic was forcing his eyes on her, eye-to-eye contact, while his memory was being wiped clean. He wanted her to see.)

Sorry, Eliza Dushku. You're okay too, but really now: priorities.

Word.

Dude, I'm not even supposed to be online right now because I'm taking a break from LJ to study for my finals. These does not work as well as it should!

I always saw that scene at the end of 'The Target' pretty awesome.

They walk in sync for a few seconds in that scene.

I liked the scene at the end of Man on the Street, when Adelle said, "I played a very bad hand very well." moment. And bits and and pieces of 1x09. And when Adelle asked him if he liked Rayna's music (I agree with [livejournal.com profile] dollsome, it was endearingly random... lol).

And all the walking-together-around-the-Dollhouse scenes. They just exude UST. Everyone MUST have felt it, but they didn't want to say anything about it. :O
