Tell us the good/bad news. If it's good news, post the joyous-ness in the comm, with matching sparkly and blinky text. If it's bad news, just put "Don't read the comic. We already know Dominic's fate" or something like that.

My problem is what happens if they make D/D canon, and then blow Dominic to smithereens? I mean it's the Whedon thing to do. Do I read it then? Do I have to accept it as canon? DILEMMA.

Could it merely be that they had a decent idea for Dominic for Epitaph 2 and Reed couldn't do the show, so it's turned up in this comic?

Yes, I'm having decided Non-Jossian delusions of "maybe everything will be at least sort of ok." Must not be fully awake yet.

And here I was thinking I was the only one who's initial reaction to this news was--no way I'm reading that. Glad to know I'm not alone.

Epitaph Two, thinking about it, is kinda Non-Jossian in a way that Priya, Tony and T got a happy ending. Even Echo sorta got a happy ending. So maybe we get a happy ending for Dom?

But then, even if I think that there is no way that I'm going to read it without knowing beforehand the fate of Dominic. I am not going to weep over this when we have the happy ending on a boat (thanks, IR!)

I keep thinking that I have to forgive Joss for Reed not being in the final two episodes. Both press releases said Reed was in them, but in thinking about the timing--it may well have been that a very cute little girl had just come into the world and daddy didn't really want to go to work right then. So maybe they had the idea and just thought WTF let's put it in a comic.

I preordered my DVD from Amazon.com so I guess a bunch of people will have it before me, so I'm likely to know already (unless I put blinders on--which I might). I don't like reading things when I know what happens, but I might have to make an exception.

I fear Joss has used up his quota of happy endings, but I'd be pleased to be wrong. And, as you say, there are happy endings in fandom already (and a lot of tragic ones), so ... I think we could take the position that if it didn't happen on screen, it didn't happen.

I'm pretty excited about this. If they're good and show the truth about how Dom in on a boat with Adelle and stuff, then we'll finally have some canon to back us up. And if they don't, it's not like extended materials are canon anyway. ;)
