The nature of DeWitt/Dominic was asked at Echo-2  
[livejournal.com profile] penikitty wrote a write-up about Echo-2, and someone asked OW and RD about Dewitt and Dominic. Which led to the revelation that Olivia Williams watches DeWitt/Dominic fanvids on youtube.

Okay, so during Fran and Olivia's talk someone asked Olivia what she thought the relationship was between Adelle and Dominic. Olivia got really excited and said "Are you the person that's made those amazing videos?" and the person said that no, she wasn't. Olivia then got extremely animated and excited and explained to us, and Fran, that there was a series of amazing videos on youtube set to music about Adelle/Dominic and that she watched them A LOT and they always make her happy.


I thought it was [livejournal.com profile] dollsome at first, but it turns out to be the great Ohsoleil. WORSHIP AT HER FEET. (I cannot link to her other vids because Youtube is blocking them. *shakes fist at youtube*)

The answer to the question is--

Yes she did answer and so did Reed. They both said they didn't see it as a romantic relationship. Reed said that he thought Dominic saw her as his queen and that he would do anything to protect her and their kingdom.




Thoughts? Personally, I love it that Reed said that he thinks Dominic sees Adelle as his queen. ♥♥♥



ETA: A question for you to ponder on: did you see DeWitt/Dominic as a romantic relationship? Yes? No? How did you see it and why?

A longing deep in the old coat pockets of my ~soul to be involved in a fandom again. BUT NOT JUST ANY FANDOM OH NO. It would have to be as frakkin' BAMF as the DeWitt/Dominic fandom. And that's kind of hard to live up to, you know?

What is the correct definition of a romantic relationship, anyway? my fandoms have screwed me up. romantic for me is saying things that are filled with subtext and maybe eye-sexing. lol

Olivia should totally watch the Adelle fanvid "I Used to Rule the World". BEST ADELLE DEWITT FANVID EVARR

OH MY GOSH SHE SHOULD. That vidddddd!

Also: I feel you there. When "holding each other at gunpoint" is a basic shippy staple of the fictional relationships I like, one begins to question my appreciation for traditional romance.

I downloaded that vid (and a few others) and put it in my iPod so that in case I'm feeling lonely, BAM, I watch it and I'll feel awesome again.

Lol, I'm going to add, 'injecting a passive transmitter to track her down after 48 hours'.

one begins to question my appreciation for traditional romance.

It's now very difficult for me to appreciate 'normal' ships. Thanks, Joss and JJ.

Yeahhh, at this point I'm calling, like, extended amount of eye contact proof of true love, so who am I to be defining real romance? xD

SHE PROBABLY ALREADY HAS. It's totally one of the links that comes up in the sidebar when you start watching all the shippy stuff. You know what the best part about all this is? I think that if it were any other fandom I'd be at least a little embarrassed by now. But literally every singe person who's been making D/D fanworks is so incredibly talented that I don't think we have a single awkwardly-terrible-video skeleton in our closets!

THEY'VE RE-WIRED OUR BRAINS-- FOR REAL LIFE AND FANTASY.

I may have thought that she's just mistook the rest of the sidebar as a "series of vids created by one person". I think she initially watched Ohsoleil's vids and then devoured everything she found on the sidebar... but she's tech savvy, so at the same time... no? lol. IDEK anymore.

IDK. My first ever fanvid was made of crack. I think. trololol
