DeWitt/Dominic Celebration Week starts tomorrow!

I totally forgot that there was no host for yesterday's rewatch (2.11 and 2.12). Since it's already the last ep next week, the rewatch post for yesterday's episode will be posted next week, together with Epitaph 2 (who doesn't have a host either).

REWATCH: 2.05 "The Public Eye" and 2.06 "The Left Hand"

1. At this point in the rewatch, have you changed your views on episodes of the series, or how the story arcs were done?
2. The first time you watched these episodes, did you ever expect that Perrin would turn out to be the Doll, and not his wife?
3. The relationship between the other Dollhouses seem very competitive. Any thoughts on the politics of Rossum and the Dollhouses?
4. How awesome was Adelle with her ball-busting move (very)
5. HOW AWESOME WAS ENVER GJOKAJ AS TOPHER (VERY AWESOME)
6. And how cute were Topher and Bennet (even though she was a little bit crazy)?
7. Did Boyd deliberately sabotage Echo and Co.'s attempts to ~rescue Madeleine and Perrin?
8. In an Alternate Universe where Dominic Was Not Discovered to be A Spy and Thus is Still Head of Security, how would the events in these episodes turn out? Take into consideration that Paul may/may not be with the Dollhouse (and if he's working for the Dollhouse, has limited actions within the organization)

Rewatch post: "Belle Chose" and "Belonging"

1. How awesome was Enver's switch from creepy serial killer to a college party girl who loves dancing?
2. Someone pointed out in a discussion in 'Haunted' that the older clients tend to call Adelle, "Addie". Do you think that it's another move of Adelle to make the clientele at ease, or does she only allow a few people to call her with that name, or something else?
3. In Belonging, we saw how Adelle started drinking more. The first time you watched the episode, did you ever think that it would spiral it to a drunken state in 2.09?
4. Adelle's speech to Topher-- result of being frank and drunk or manipulation on her part for Topher to do something about Sierra/Priya's imprint?
5. If Adelle didn't plan for Nolan to ~disappear/was just being frank and drunk to Topher, do you think at that moment in the end, when Boyd called, she had figured out who made Nolan disappear?
6.In an Alternate Universe Where Dominic Wasn't Caught and Is Still Head of Security, would he have helped Topher in the same way Boyd did (with Topher cutting up the body), or would he have taken care of everything and let Topher and Priya go?

1. Adelle's haircut. Discuss. What was she thinking when she decided to chop off her locks? What did she want to achieve or show with the new hair? Did the loss of her favourite Head of Security have anything to do with the change? And personally, do you like it?

2. How is Adelle doing with Boyd? What does she miss about Dominic?

3. Tempura Joe. Assuming this occurred while Dom was still HoS, how did Dom and DeWitt react to that engagement?

4. Would Dom have hired Ballard? What would he have done differently to DeWitt?

5. Who wears the nicest suit? Perin, Boyd, Paul or Dom?


6. "You have a source at the NSA?" "Had. Like everyone else he's gone underground." Is this Dominic? Why would he be passing information to Perrin?

7. "The formative months of an infant's life are crucial. A child who feels loved is imprinted with the sense that the world is a safe place. A child who does not feel loved grows up to be...well, most likely a sociopath." Is Adelle talking about her own experience? What was Adelle's childhood like?


8. Which engagement did you think was squickier-- the marriage engagement in the season premiere, or the mother engagement in the second episode?

1. How awesome was Enver Gjokaj's take on Reed's take of Laurence Dominic? (answer: very)
2. And how awesome was the part when DeWitt and Dominic realized who sent the flash drive to them? Did you notice the part where Topher and Boyd didn't want to take the word of a drugged Victor!Dominic about the password, but Adelle was?
3. If ASitHoL did not happen and Dominic was still Head of Security, how would the incidents in 1.11 and 1.12 be different? Would Ballard have had an accidental death by the end of the season?
4. How much do you think Victor!Dominic contributed to Saunders' realization that she was an Active? If Dominic hadn't said 'whiskey' would she have reacted differently to Alpha's "have you always wanted to be a doctor?" question?
5. Any DeWitt/Dominic head!canons at this point? Abandoned plot bunnies, whatnot?

Okay, so discussion:

"Dollhouse" A Spy in the House of Love (2009)

This was the iconic episode where Dominic's loyalty to NSA was brought to life. He was also fridged, and marked the last ep that Dominic appeared in s1 with the exception of the, then unaired, S1 finale. Despite this, it was also the first episode that evoked hard reaction from DeWitt/Dominic fans. In fact, ironically, this shipper comm was immediately created after "Spy in the House of Love."

Echoes:

1. When you watched the show the first time, did you expect that we'll be seeing the "public face" of Rossum/Dollhouse? Was the revelation that Caroline started out as an animal activist surprised you as a viewer?
2. The drug affects non-Actives or those without Active architecture very quickly. When you first watched the episode, did Dr. Saunders' absence obviously pointed to her being an Active?
3. And now knowing that Boyd has Active architecture, is it possible that Boyd was merely pretending to be drugged during the entire episode?
4. When Dominic said that this is not all there is to Laurence Dominic, was it a jab at himself being secretly a spy for the NSA (in the same vein with DeWitt saying she has a story about Victor, which would have revealed her to be Ms. Lonelyhearts) or was it something more?
5. Why were DeWitt and Dominic so awkward towards the end of the episode (which, btw, was the only scene they had together, as opposed to the rest of the 13 eps that Dominic was in - minus The Attic, in the entire series)

Needs:

1. How awesome was DeWitt and Dominic framed in the staff meeting scene? (very)
2. Knowing that Dr. Saunders was an Active and watching the staff meeting scene, was it a known secret by the staff that this Dr. Saunders is a retired Active, or are we assuming that most of the members of the staff were killed by Alpha?
3. What were your thoughts on the way DeWitt and Dominic handled the meeting?
4. Did you agree with Dominic that the whole exercise put both Actives and the House at risk?
5. With the interspersing of the Adelle/Echo confrontation with the reveal that November lost her child, plus the reveal that Sierra was forced into the Dollhouse, which side of the argument were you most agreeable with?
6. "You're not as important as you think you are." --> how does this statement work with Adelle's development throughout the series?
7. Did this episode make you root for Echo?
